Budget-Friendly Pasta Bake
A simple, crowd-pleasing pasta bake that uses affordable ingredients. Perfect for feeding a family on a budget.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- ½ cup grated Parmesan
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with onion for 6 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine the pasta and sauce in a baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake for 20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
