Caprese Panini

A warm, pressed Caprese panini with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomato, basil, and balsamic glaze. Ready in 10 minutes and utterly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices sourdough or ciabatta bread
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil.
  2. On the un-oiled side, layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and basil. Drizzle balsamic glaze and season with salt and pepper. Top with remaining bread, oiled side up.
  3. Grill in a panini press or skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until bread is golden and cheese is melted.
  4. Slice and serve warm.
