Turkey & Cheese Kabobs

These turkey and cheese kabobs turn lunch into a fun activity. Threaded onto short skewers, they’re easy for little hands to hold and eat. The best part? Kids can help assemble their own kabobs, making them more likely to eat what’s packed. No cooking required, ready in 5 minutes, and endlessly customisable.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices of turkey breast, rolled and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4-6 cubes of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or cheese of choice)
  • ¼ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup cucumber chunks
  • Small wooden or plastic skewers (with blunt ends for safety)
  • Optional: grapes, pitted olives, or bell pepper chunks

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: Roll turkey slices and cut into bite-sized pieces. Cut cheese into cubes. Halve cherry tomatoes. Cut cucumber into small chunks.
  2. Take a skewer and thread ingredients in a pattern: start with a tomato half, then turkey, then cheese, then cucumber, then turkey again. Repeat until the skewer is full, leaving space at both ends for easy holding.
  3. Make each kabob colourful by alternating colours and shapes. Let kids create their own patterns — it makes eating more fun.
  4. Pack the kabobs flat in a lunchbox container. Add a small container of dip like ranch or honey mustard if desired.
  5. Repeat with remaining skewers. Each kabob makes a perfect single-serving size for a child’s lunch.
