Classic Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups

These ham and cheese roll-ups are the ultimate school lunchbox shortcut. With just three ingredients and five minutes, you can pack a lunch that kids actually want to eat. No cooking required, no complicated assembly — just roll, slice, and pack. Perfect for busy school mornings when every minute counts.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of ham (deli-style)
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your child’s favourite)
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (or mayonnaise for spreading)
  • Optional: lettuce leaves, cucumber strips

Instructions

  1. Lay a slice of ham flat on a clean cutting board. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or mayonnaise evenly over the ham slice.
  2. Place a slice of cheese on top of the ham. If you’re adding lettuce or cucumber, layer them on now.
  3. Starting from one end, roll the ham tightly into a log. The cream cheese helps hold it together.
  4. Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled log into 1-inch pinwheels. Pack in a lunchbox container.
  5. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Store in the refrigerator until ready to pack.
