3-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse
Rich, decadent chocolate mousse made with just 3 simple ingredients. Silky, smooth, and incredibly easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (175 g) dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave in 30-second bursts. Let cool slightly.
- In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Stir the egg yolks into the melted chocolate until well combined.
- Gently fold in the egg whites, a third at a time, until no white streaks remain. Be careful not to deflate the mixture.
- Divide among serving glasses. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Tips
- Use good quality chocolate for the best flavour – at least 60% cocoa.
- Make sure the melted chocolate is not too hot before adding egg yolks.
- Garnish with whipped cream, berries, or a sprinkle of sea salt.
