3-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse

Rich, decadent chocolate mousse made with just 3 simple ingredients. Silky, smooth, and incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (175 g) dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave in 30-second bursts. Let cool slightly.
  2. In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Stir the egg yolks into the melted chocolate until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the egg whites, a third at a time, until no white streaks remain. Be careful not to deflate the mixture.
  5. Divide among serving glasses. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Tips

  • Use good quality chocolate for the best flavour – at least 60% cocoa.
  • Make sure the melted chocolate is not too hot before adding egg yolks.
  • Garnish with whipped cream, berries, or a sprinkle of sea salt.
